New road network

The regeneration of Galindo and its transformation into an urban environment made it necessary to redefine the connections with the rest of the municipality through new streets and road links. The first project was the construction in the year 2000 of a subway under the Renfe tracks connecting Urban-Galindo with the centre of Barakaldo. The new BI-3739 road (Avenida de Altos Hornos) runs along the area for 600 metres and connects it to Sestao. In addition, the northern ring road was opened in 2003, improving road traffic throughout the municipality and connecting to the A-8 motorway.
